Douglas White, 2 others put on defence for forgery

Chingola Magistrate Court has found Douglas White and two others with a case to answer and put them on defense in a matter in which they alleged to have forged documents for Nchanga Motor Sport.

White 42, of Riverside, Mbachi Ngwira 31, also of Riverside and Reams Mabvuto 31, of Flat. 2 Mkushi Road were found with a case to answer.

This is in a case where the trio is facing two counts of forgery and uttering forged documents which later led to unlawful meeting.

In the third count of attending unlawful meeting, the trio has been acquitted.

Particulars before Resident Magistrate Stephen Mabona were that the trio forged a certificate of the Nchanga Motor Sport Club and later uttered the same false document to enable them open a bank account.

In his ruling Magistrate Mr Mabona said that the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the trio was using forged document and held a sporting events at the circuit without informing the owners.

Mr Mabona has put the trio on their defense and has adjourned the matter to November 16, for defense.

During defence, the three have been directed to account for the proceeds which was deposited in the bank account opened with forged documents.

 

The trio is on bond.
