The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) is saddened by the death of eleven people in two separate road traffic accidents that happened on Sunday 27th September 2020 along the Kafue-Chirundu road and on Monday 28th September 2020 along the Mansa-Mwense road.
DMMU National Coordinator Chanda Kabwe says the Unit considers the two accidents as a great loss to the nation for the country has lost talented and productive youths, men and women who would have contributed positively to the social, cultural, moral and economic development of the country.
Mr Kabwe disclosed that his office working with the administration in the two Provinces will offer the required logistical support to the bereaved families upon their advice.
He has further advised motorists to be extra careful on the road to prevent some of these fatal accidents as over speeding is always dangerous and can deprive the nation of prominent and productive citizens.
Mr Kabwe urged the bereaved families to find comfort in the Almighty and that the Unit will remain in prayers and solidarity with the families that have lost their loved ones.
He furthermore added that disaster management is everyone’s responsibility and by working together we can reduce fatalities on our roads and make our country an accident free zone.
