Ndola District Commissioner Joseph Phiri warned residents against disposing off garbage in undesignated areas especially in drainages.
The DC has called on people living in flood-prone areas to be responsible when disposing off waste materials.
Mr Phiri said disposing off garbage in undesignated areas especially in drainages has negatively affected the free-flow of rain water and resulting in the blocking of drainages.
He said residents in the district need to be responsible with waste management.
Mr Phiri has assured residents in the district of Government support at all times.
