The International Diplomatic Spouses Association (IDSA) President in South Africa, Monde Mwamba has outlined this year’s Association’s vision of helping more underprivileged communities in South Africa.
Mrs Mwamba (above), who is also spouse of Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Emmanuel Mwamba, said the Association reaches out to the less privileged and communities in all South Africa to help uplift the living standards of affected women and children.
Speaking during a fundraising Gala Dinner at Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria, Mrs Mwamba said the organisation would this year enhance its efforts to do charity work to empower vulnerable communities.
She observed that the charitable organisation has so far achieved remarkable progress in helping to alleviate the sufferings of women and children, HIV infected people and disabled people in different communities across South Africa.
Mrs Mwamba called on the corporate world and other organisations to come on board to help raise the needed funds that would help to put smiles on the faces of many underprivileged people and groups thst IDSA supports.
She thanked members of her executive committee and partners of the association for their dedicated effort over the years in helping the association achieve its charity mandate and remain relevant to society.
And South Africa prominent disability champion and renowned author, Emily Olifant praised the work of IDSA in supporting charities and causes that affect the under privileged.
She said charity organisations compliment the work of government and the social inadequacies in society required all to come together to help.
The event was attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners as well as diplomatic spouses accredited to that country, captains of industry among others.
