Kitwe giants Diggers have made a poor start to the 2021 National Rugby Season after losing their opening match to defending champions Red Arrows at home.
Diggers are rooted at the bottom of the table with no point following their recent 50-3 loss to Arrows in Nkana West, Kitwe.
This was Diggers’ first game after their Week 1 match against Green Eagles failed to take place when the Kitwe team reportedly had a breakdown on the road to Kabwe.
Diggers have since been eclipsed by their Kitwe rivals KPF who have taken an early lead in the National Rugby League after winning their first two matches.
KPF sits on nine points following a 24-18 win over Nkwazi away in Lusaka at the weekend.
Mufulira Leopards are second in on eight points followed by Arrows on five points despite playing just one match so far.
Fourth placed Lusaka sits on five points while Nkwazi are number five with one point.
