The UPND alliance Media Director Thabo Kawana says the Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC-will continue executing their duties without any interference from government.
Mr Kawana said that setting up a commission of inquiry into public resource management to investigate corruption in the previous regime is not necessary.
He was reacting to investigations conducted by-DEC-over suspected money laundering allegations against Patriotic Front cadre Maxwell Chongu, said the UPND has nothing to do with it.
“Zambia has institutions mandated to carry out that task, all what they need is to give them the Autonomy to their work like President Hichilema has done. We have institutions like DEC, ACC, Auditor General, and Controller of internal audits, they know what to do when wrongs are committed,” he said.
