The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), in the Eastern province, has destroyed 7-hundred and 45 kilograms of cannabis, which was seized from various suspects, between March and December last year.

DEC Regional Commander, Charles Ndulumina said that the consignment was seized from 1-hundred and 66 suspects, who were convicted.

Mr Ndulumina said 10 of those convicted are juveniles, adding that most of the convicts have since served their sentences.

He also said that most of the 7-hundred and 45 kilograms of the cannabis seized and destroyed was intercepted while destined for Lusaka.

Mr Ndulumina was speaking in an interview with journalists during the destruction of the cannabis at Kasaki abattoir in Chipata, eastern province.
