Dan Chiteule was on Saturday elected as Zambia Boxing Federation president after beating incumbent Kennedy Mubita during the elective annual general meeting in Kabwe.
Chiteule, who was Mubita’s deputy, polled 26 votes against his predecessor’s 19 to ascend to the pinnacle of boxing administration in the country.
Mubita replaced Kitwe’s Thomas Chileshe four years ago.
The Kabwe businessman will be at the helm of the federation for the next four years.
While Mubita was tumbling, general secretary Bright Chomba also lost to Westie Chewe to relinquish his post for the second time.
Chomba was part of the Stephen Simpemba executive before losing to Ceasar Musuku.
Musuku who was secretary under the Chileshe regime got 22 votes against Chewe’s 23.
Other members of the new executive are vice-president Mashekwa Nalumango,vice-secretary Limbikani Phiri, treasurer Wilson Mukuka and his vice Mululu Nsesela.
Phiri, Mukuka and Nsesela all went through unopposed.
