Chingola Magistrate Court has committed a-30-year- old man to the High Court for sentencing for defiling his nine-year-old step daughter on five occasion.
This is in a matter in which John Chongo of Kasope old Airport was facing five counts of sexually defilement hi step daughter contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Chingola Resident Magistrate Timothy Daka found the accused guilty and committed him to the High Court for sentencing as the charge he was facing was beyond his jurisdiction.
The accused admitted to the charges.
Particulars of the offence in count were that on dates unknown but between October 1, and 31, 2019, Chongo had unlawful carnal knowledge of his nine year old step daughter.
This was after Chongo had chased his wife away from home during the night after a marital dispute and took advantage of the victim.
In count two on dates unknown but between December 1, and 31, 2019 he had sex with the victim after chasing the mother.
And in count three on dates unknown but between January 1 and 31, 2020, Chongo had sex with her again after he chased the mother during night time.
In count four between February 1 and 28, 2020 he had sex with the victim after he chased the mother.
And in count five on unknown dates between June 1 and 21, had sex with her after chasing the mother.
The victim in the month of June went to her grandmother where she reviewed that her step-father was sexually abusing her on several occasion.
This was how the matter was reported to Chingola Central Police station where he was arrested on July 3, 2020.
