President Edgar Lungu has ordered no movements into and out of Kafue tomorrow to allow a thorough cleanup of the district.
Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has announced during the routine briefing that health authorities will conduct mass screening and testing in Kafue.
Dr Chilufya said this will allow the health authorities to quantify the extent of the Covid-19 problem in Kafue.
He appealed to Kafue residents to stay at home tomorrow and to cooperate with the health authorities.
The Minister of Health said all public places will not be open to allow for disinfection of the town.
Meanwhile, the country has not recorded any Covid-19 laboratory confirmed cases in the last 24 hours from the 43 tests that were conducted.
Dr Chilufya said the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases remains at 45 with 2 deaths.
He said all patients are stable including the 74-year-old man, who was reported to have been ill and required oxygen.
Dr Chilufya said all hospitals have been directed to test patients with fever and flu for Covid-19 and also conduct swabs on bodies brought in dead.
