Caritas Chipata has expressed displeasure with the manner the Local Government Service Commission is conducting transfers in council across Eastern Province.
In an interview, Caritas Chipata Governance Coordinator Mthaziko Zulu said his organisation is appalled by what it terms unnecessary transfers of senior council staff, saying they are retarding progress.
Mr Zulu notes that Caritas has visited various Local Authorities across the region and what been established is that most senior officers are being moved after serving just for a minimum of 3 months.
He has threatened that if the status quo remains unchecked, his organization will advocate that senior council officer should be employed by local establishments and not the commission.
The Caritas Governance Coordinator has since challenged the Local Government Service Commission to puts it house in order.
