Corruption hinders Development- Kunda

Movement for Promoting National Values and Principals founder Joseck Kunda says that corruption is a major hindrance and enemy of development in the society.

Mr Kunda said that instead of the national resources reaching the intended targets, monies are diverted and ends up in the pockets of few selfish individuals.

He said that Zambia is rated to be among the most corrupt nation due to a few corrupt individuals in the country.

Mr Kunda said that according to recent statistics obtained Zambia remains one of the poorest nation and 60 percent of the people live below the poverty line and 40 percent live extremely poor.

He said urbanization has resulted in 70 percent of the people living in slams under deplorable condition with inadequate water supply and proper sanitation.

Mr Kunda said that despite been a country with vast land and favorable weather condition, precious minerals and good business opportunity the country still remain poor country.

He said people still live in abject poverty while a few privileged politicians keep enjoying life.

Mr Kunda said that the gap between the rich and the poor is widening.

“As the people go to vote on August 12 they should vote for people with clean images not those dented with corruption.

“I challenged the government that will be voted into power next week to take serious introspection when it comes to expenditure of our nation,” he said.
