The National Union of Private and Public Educators of Zambia -NUPPEZ- has advised government to consider deferring the final midyear GCE Examinations if Covid-19 will not end by June.
NUPPEZ General Secretary Nelson Mwale said serving lives is more important than the inconvenience that maybe caused to students.
Mr Mwale said NUPPEZ’s stance is owing to people’s failure to observe guidelines by the Ministry of Health such as social distance.
He said Covid-19 has ravaged the globe hence Zambia should not take chances with the examinations if the pandemic will not be dealt with by then.
Mr Mwale also observed that much as students will be running out of time, they should work and study hard as individuals to prepare for the exams.
