Consider crafting exchange programs for teachers-NAQEZ

By IREEN MULENGA
The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) Executive Director Aaron Chansa has called on the Minister of Education Douglas Siakalima to consider crafting more teachers’ exchange programs for teachers to teach in primary and secondary schools in other countries.

Mr Chansa said that the exchange programs for teachers will create employment and other opportunities for trained teachers.

“It is very important that many teachers to be sent to various countries because apart from learning best practices, it will also help create jobs for teachers,” he said.

Speaking in an interview today, Mr Chansa said that exchange programs are beneficial as they bring international perspectives to classrooms and schools as a result of exposure to different education systems and assessment methods.

Mr Chansa has urged the Ministry of education to consider crafting such programs for the benefit of teachers and the nation at large.
