Concourt to start hearing petitions

The Constitutional Court will tomorrow start the hearing of Parliamentary Election Petitions Appeal Cases.

Bowman Lusambo versus Bernard Kanengi is the first the Parliamentary Election Petitions Appeal Case earmarked for hearing tomorrow.

Mr Lusambo of the Patriotic Front (PF) appealed to the Constitutional Court after the Ndola High Court nullified his election as Kabushi Member of Parliament.

His election victory was petitioned by Mr Kanengi of the United Party for National Development (UPND) who was his rival.

The Parliamentary Election Petitions Appeal Cases in the Constitutional Court come on the backdrop of the litigations disposed by the High Courts’ after the 2021 General Election.
