Lundazi Town Council is pleased with the compliance levels on the Covid-19 preventive measures by long distance bus operators and passengers at the main bus station.
The Local Authority undertook an impromptu inspection at the bus station to ensure that the five golden rules are been observed.
Lundazi Council Public Relations Officer Cynthia Mutalange said the Council is pleased that bus operators have stepped up to help curb the spread of the pandemic.
“Bus operators have played a major role in ensuring that all passengers are masked up. Operators do place emphasis on masking up to each and every customer before boarding the bus, no passenger is allowed on the bus without a mask leading to an increase in compliance levels,” she said.
Ms Mutalange said that Lundazi Council has undertaken a number of inspections in public places in a bid to ensure that there is adherence to the five golden rules aimed at preventing the spread of covid-19.
She said the Municipality will further intensify inspection to ensure that there is total compliance.
