Comedian Memory Kasweshi interred

Hundreds of mourners yesterday paid their last respect to comedian icon Memory Kasweshi who was put to rest at Chingola Central Cemetery.

The Chingola Based comedian died on Sunday February 20, 2021 in a road traffic accident in Kabwe after a performance in Lusaka.

Memory was an actress, producer, MC, event organizer and the founder of the Memory comedy show.

Speaking during the funeral service, Chingola art Chairperson Evans Kalandanya describe Memory as perfectionist who wanted to give the best out of whatever she did.

Mr Kalandanya said that Memory had passion about her acting career hence her dedication towards work.

He said the death of Memory is a great loss to Chingola Art society and the Art fraternity at large.

“It is hard to believe that Memory is gone, I thought she on vacation, even in my speech I said Memory is one person I thought could turn things around and if possible she could have turned this around and come back to life, that how devastating her death is to Chingola art society and personally as Evans,” he said.

And shade Star face who used to act with Memory as Mr and Mrs Mujomba described Memory as one person who never used to change on and off set.

He said Memory was jovial, caring and dedicated towards her work.

“Judging by the multitude of people witnessing paying their last respects, you can tell that Memory used to interact with everyone, from all walks of life, we forever miss Memory because she will be hard to replace,” he said.

Memory was a single mother who has left behind one child.
