Chingola Council has warned members of the public against Indiscriminate dumping of Waste in Cemeteries.
CMC Assistant Public Relations Manager Evelyn Mulenga said the public should refrain from illegally dumping waste at Chingola Cemetery.
Ms Mulenga said Council has noticed with great concern the increase in this illegal activity and shall not hesitate to prosecute those found wanting.
She said residents are urged to hold cemeteries with great importance as they are final resting places for the departed.
Ms Mulenga said the Municipality has also warned all residents from dumping waste illegally in markets, roadsides, drainages and any other areas not designated for such purposes.
“Chingola Municipal Council is committed to ensuring that the town is kept clean and safe from diseases associated with mismanagement of solid waste,” she said.
