CMC cleans Kasala ward

Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy campaign has continued in Chingola district as the Municipal Council today visited Kasala ward.

The Municipal Council in conjunction with Neportech and Zambia National Building Society cleaned Kabundi market and Kabundi clinic.

Kasala ward councilor Boyd Mfunda encouraged traders and marketers to always ensure that their trading spaces are kept clean.

Mr Mfunda said trading in clean environments also promotes good health as contiguous diseases such diarrhea can be prevented.

Mr Mfunda also called on residents on the ward to ensure that they depose off garbage in designated places to maintain cleanliness in the ward.

And Neportech Manager Kennedy Chanda appealed to the marketers to ensure that they subscribe to Neportech to have their garbage picked up on time.

Mr Chanda said this will help in maintaining cleanliness around the market.

Representative of ZNBS Mwiiya Himwiita encouraged the marketeers to keep their surroundings clean without waiting for anyone to collect the garbage.

And a Representative of council Public health director Emmanuel Kasalwe said anyone found deposing off garbage carelessly will be fined a sum of K700.

Mr Kasalwe said that this is to deter traders from dumping garbage careless.
He also called on the traders to be vigilant and report any person seen carelessly deposing off garbage.
Mr Kasalwe said this will help the public health and will also help in maintaining order at the market.
