Chipolopolo kicked off its Cameroon 2021 CHAN campaign with a 2-0 win over Tanzania in the Group D match played in Limbe on Tuesday evening.
Strikers Collins Sikombe and Emmanuel Chabula both from Lusaka Dynamos contributed a goal each.
Zambia and Tanzania went to the half time break with a goalless draw before Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s side stole the limelight in the last half.
Sikombe put Zambia in front after 64 minutes when scoring a penalty to beat Tanzania keeper Aisha Manula.
Chabula sealed the win with an amazing goal after benefiting from Sikombe’s cross in the 78th minute.
It was a dream start for Zambia who are making their fourth appearance at CHAN.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo’s next encounter is on January 23, against Guinea before facing Namibia on January 27.
