National team interim coach Beston Chambeshi says the team is shaping up well ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifers against Mauritania and Tunisia.

Zambia will be away to Mauritania on September 3 before hosting Tunisia four days later at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Chambeshi said in an interview in Morocco where the Chipolopolo has set base that the team will be ready for clash with Mauritania.

“We are happy with the way the boys are working and they are looking forward to the game in Mauritania which is good for us as a technical staff. And I am happy with the training facilities here.

“We have been received very well which is good. For sure we are working in our type of approach, the way we are going to play in Mauritania. We have our own system and by the end of next week, we will conclude our final preparations,” he said

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has secured a 10 days international camp for the team to help them prepare and have a feel of similar conditions in Mauritania.

Currently Chambeshi only has local players in camp but foreign based players are set to beef up the team after featuring for their respective clubs this weekend.

“Foreign based players are ready to join the team soon. I talked to Evans Kangwa and Patson Daka. Anytime they might join us, they are just waiting to fulfil their fixtures at their club’s this week and by Monday we will receive one or two,”he said.

And Chambeshi also called on the fans to believe and support the team.

“The fans should believe in this team and rely on us, for sure we are working hard to give them a smile. All what we need is to focus and see the way forward,” he said.
