The National Team of local players has been held to a 1-1 draw by the Soccer Fans Select Side in a test match played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Monday.
The Micho coached National Team needed a late equaliser from Zanaco striker Moses Phiri to force the draw.
Phiri headed in from a corner after outjumping a litany of defenders to beat keeper Fred Silwamba.
The Wedson Nyirenda coached Select Side took an early lead with Zesco United defender Clement Mwape as the scorer.
Both teams showed some flashes with the Select Side demonstrating massive experience.
This match is part of Zambia’s preparations for next month’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) coming up in Cameroon.
Zambia will face Tanzania, Guinea and Namibia at CHAN- the Africa Cup for locally based players on the continent.
