Chipoka Mulenga will file in first on UPND tomorrow

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has released timetables for nominations of Councilors, mayoral and national assembly candidates.

In Chingola, the nominations are scheduled to commence on Monday, May 17 with the United Party for National Development (UNPD), Chingola constituency Parliamentary Candidate Chipoka Mulenga expected to file first at 09:00 hours.

The Democratic Party’s candidate will also file in at the same time, while the National Democratic Congress candidate is expected to file in at 10:20 hours.

According to the timetables made available by the District Electoral Officer Kabombo Mutekela, the Patriotic Front (PF) Chingola constituency candidate Michelle Kazala will file in at 11:00 hours.

Others expected to file in for Chingola constituency are Chilekwa Mumba, Joseph Kazhila Jr, Chishika Donald all contesting as independent candidates

The last to file in for Chingola constituency at 14:40 hours, will be Socialist Party’s candidate Schilima Flannel.

On May 18, it will be day for the mayoral nominations, with the first to file being UPND’s Christopher Kang’ombe filling in at 09:00 hours.

The Democratic Party and the National Democratic Congress will file at 10:00 and 11:00 hours respectively

The Patriotic Front’s Titus Tembo will file in at 12:00 hours while independent candidate Nelius Mumba will file in at 14:00 hours.

Parliamentary candidates from Nchanga constituency will file in on May 19, with the UPND fielding in Derricky Chilundika, the PF Rosemary Chipoya and they will file in at 09:00 and 10:00 hours respectively.

Others scheduled to file in are candidates from the NDC, DP Socialist party and one independent.

All the candidates will be allowed to bring with a limited number of supporters from within their areas.
