UPND parliamentary candidates for Chingola and Nchanga Constituencies have filed in their nominations at Chingola Civic Centre and Kabundi Secondary School respectively.
The Chingola Constituency nomination centre (the Civic Centre) was declared opened at exactly 09:00 hours by the Returning Officer Davis Mwelwa
The first to file in was UPND’s Chipoka Mulenga, who was accompanied by party officials and 15 supporters
During his filing in, power was disrupted for a few seconds and but was restored
The Zambia police was well able to ensure that the nominations are carried out without any confusion.
Speaking after filing in, Mr Mulenga said that there need for the Chingola constituency residents to turn out in numbers and make their voices heard
“They have confidence in that I can represent the party, I would like to urge the unsuccessful aspiring candidates to unite so that we can work together, time for change has come and it is no,” he said
Meanwhile, Nchanga constituency UPND parliamentary candidate Derrick Chiludinkaalso filed in at the same time at Kabundi.
