Students at Chipata Trades Training Institute have rioted destroying the school administration block, four utility vehicle and the vice principal’s house.

Student ran amok, last night on account that they were aggrieved by the school rules.

The School Principal Mirriam Mwale confirmed the development this morning, School.

Ms Mwale said the students are not happy with the action taken by the school to suspend some students last week.

She said the administration at the school is saddened by the student’s behaviour to abhor rules, because there is no society that is governed without rules.

The Principal said Police have since instituted investigation, stressing that the school will not allow lawlessness to take place.

And some inside source said that some students at the school have formed a gang called the ‘Rope Family’ that has been causing a series of havoc at the school.

Dilika ward Councillor Samuel Phiri has also registered his displeasure at the behaviour portrayed by the students.

He says the students would have taken the right channel to air their grievances unlike taking the law into their own hands.

Eastern Police Chief Luckson Sakala told The Independent Observer that no arrest has been made but he has names of suspects and police will soon round up all the suspects.
