A 14-year-old boy from Chingola has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl who is a friend of his sister.
The girl had come over for a sleepover. On October 11, 2024, the victim left home at 14:00 hours to attend extra lessons in Kabundi North but instead decided to visit a friend.
She stayed there until 20:00 hours when her friend asked if she could spend the night due to the late hour and requested that she share a room with her brother. The victim accepted and joined the brother in the bedroom, where they had unlawful carnal knowledge while his sister was taking a shower.
After the sister finished showering, she went to her bedroom, and the victim later joined her on her bed and slept. The victim did not return home and instead spent the night at her friend’s place.
When the victim returned home, her mother questioned her about her whereabouts and where she had slept.
The victim disclosed the ordeal to her mother, who then reported the matter to the Nchanga Police Station Victim Support Unit.
A case docket was opened, and an arrest was made.
