Chingola Town Clerk Kabombo Mutakela has opted not to side with any grouping in the Lawrence Allen Motor Sport Circuit ownership wrangles.
The Nchanga Motor Sport led by John Mwee has titles of the circuit while the community fighting the Mwee executive is questioning how Mwee got titles for the same public property.
Mr Mutakela told Chingola Resident Magistrate Stephen Mabona that his office had received a letter signed by Douglas White 42, of Riverside requesting the Council to help in conducting the elections as the terms office for the then executive had expired.
He said that his office advised in a letter to White that there is need for them to resolve the issues at hand as they were two committees all clamming to be members of the club.
The Town Clerk said that they were told to resolve the dispute as to who were the members of the club.
White, Mbachi Ngwira 31, also of Riverside and Reams Mabvuto 31, of Flat. 2 Mkushi Road have been dragged to court by the Mwee Executive for forgery, uttering forged documents and also hosting a sports event at the circuit without lawful authority.
Testifying in the same matter was FNB Banker Chilufya Mulenga who told the court that the trio opened an account in the name of the club but later they wanted to close the account.
Mr Mulenga said the account was not closed but was put on hold because coincidentally it was the same time the bank received a letter from the police for some investigation over the same bank account.
The matter has been adjourned to August 24, for continuation of trial.
The 2.4 kilometre Lawrence Allen Motor Sport Circuit which is situated on Chingola-Chililabombwe road was established in 1971 by Lawrence Allence.
