In a disturbing trend that has become all too familiar in Chingola, a 32-year-old man has been killed by unknown criminals in Nchanga, Chingola.
Charm Lupuluwe, a resident of 7 Chimutunga Street, Chingola Town center, was attacked and robbed of his Infinix hot 30 cellphone valued at K3100 on December 3, 2024, between 20:30 and 21:00 hours along Mupaka Drive, Kabundi South, Chingola.
According to Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, Lupuluwe was found lying unconscious on the left side of the road by his fiancée, who had gone to look for him after he failed to communicate as per routne meeting in the evening.
He was rushed to Nchanga North General hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit and later died at around 01:30 hours on December 4, 2024.
The police have opened a docket and launched an investigation into the matter, but no arrests or recoveries have been made yet.
This latest incident adds to the growing concern about the safety and security of residents in Chingola, where barely a month passes without a report of a killing or violent crime.
