Chingola MP donates to Chawama clinic

Chingola constituency Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga yesterday visited Chawama clinic to appreciate the works and challenges that the clinic is faced with.

Mr Chipoka also visited the maternity ward and donated to mothers of new born babies some hampers.

He also donated two digital blood pressure machines (BP), surgical gloves, cleaning agents and disinfectants to the clinic; the donation all together was worthy K8, 000.

Mr Chipoka said that the visit to the clinic was to fulfill the promise he made of during elections of donating BP machines as the clinic lacks enough BP machines.

Mr Chipoka called on the stuff at the clinic to ensure that they support the leadership of President Hikainde Hichilema for development to be achieved.

“We are trying to fulfill the promises that were made to the people during campaigns of better health service delivery, the UPND cannot do this alone but we require collective efforts from everyone, the president is asking everyone pulls in one direction, “ he said.

Mr Chipoka expressed worry over the lack of running water and electricity at the clinic.

Mr Chipoka said that the vision is to elevate Chawama clinic to a hospital on its own and not just a level one hospital.

He also called on the health workers to ensure that they report on time and down tools when work is done.

“In the UPND regime, cadres will not intimidate anyone, you as professionals will work accordingly without any interference, we will separate politics from professional work, the UPND is not here to point at anyone who belonged to other parties, what we want is to work so that the country moves forward,” he said.

And Chawama nurse in Charge Gladys Mpharo said that the clinic has the domestic digital machines similar to those donate but they always breaks down after a few weeks,

Ms Mpharo also appealed for an industrial BP machines as they are long lasting and efficient

Ms Mpharo thanked Mr Chipoka for the donation, pledging that the donations will be used for the intended purposes.
