Chingola MP Chipoka Mulenga Hails Issuance of Title Deeds to 4,000 Residents

Over four thousand Chingola residents have received title deeds to their properties, courtesy of the National Land Titling Center and Medici.

This milestone event was attended by Chipoka Mulenga, Member of Parliament for Chingola Constituency and Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry.

Mr. Mulenga emphasized the importance of holding onto these properties as inheritance for future generations.

He cautioned against selling land to foreigners, instead advocating for agreements with investors that prioritize community interests and benefit property owners through partnerships.

“Selling land is selling your rights and freedom, Foreigners may have money, but you have land; bargain and work in partnership,” he said.

The Minister also addressed concerns about land sales along Solwezi Road, urging residents to make informed decisions.

Additionally, he announced that land has been allocated for residents from Hellen who applied for plots but faced challenges due to lack of water in the area.

Alternative land will also be provided to those whose houses were demolished in Kasompe Air strip.

Mavis Masumba a recipient expressed gratitude to the government for securing property rights for future generations.

The event was also attended by District Commissioner Racheal Chimupi, Town Clerk Namukolo Kalufyanya, and Acting Chief Lands Officer Cecillia Chivunda. This development is expected to bolster property ownership and community empowerment in Chingola.
