Chingola Mayor targets planting 2, 000 trees

Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo has told Chingola Council today that the local authority targets to plant over 2, 000 trees in order to make Chingola clean and green again.

Speaking during the full Council meeting, Mr Tembo said Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) had donated K10, 000 towards the exercise of planting trees.

He said Princes Bakery and an individual named as a Mr Hachingala had donated K400 cash each towards the exercise.

The Mayor said that he is appealing to other business houses and individuals to come forward and contribute either trees or money towards the project.

He implored residents to plant trees at their homes so as to make Chingola clean and green thereby combat climate change effects.
