After a complete overhaul of most of the key roads of Chingola, the leader of the Local Authority wants to plant 3, 000 trees.
This is aimed at resetting history of the town once dubbed as the cleanest in Zambia.
Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo said Chingola Municipal is seek to plant 3000 trees an effort to keep Chingola clean, green and healthy.
Mr Tembo said the council is imploring the private sector to donate trees to the local authority.
He said the business community should come on board and donate the trees for planting to the council.
“The council would like the business community in Chingola to show solidarity in this fight to restore Chingola to its former glory of being the cleanest town in Zambia.
“The roads in Chingola have been rehabilitated and now the only thing that remains is to add beautiful greenery. We are hereby asking the business community to donate trees, this time we are not asking for monetary donations,” he said.
The Mayor said the onus lies with everyone to make sure that Chingola is kept clean green and healthy especially now that the rainy season is here.
