…no more throwing litter on the window of vehicles

Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo calls for need to up the refuse collection routine if the Town is look beautiful again.
Mr Tembo said his municipality had lagged behind in terms of waste management and thereby needing another breathe to inspire the waste management system.
He said the council would get suggestions for viable ways to waste management from members of the public for consideration.
The Mayor said the local authority is doing everything possible to bring back the town to its former glory of being the cleanest town in the country.
“Very soon our team will start carrying out inspections on private property to monitor their cleanliness because everyone has the right to live in a clean environment.
“The public should take ownership of their environment as cleanliness should start from the individual. We will extend our inspections to buses check if they have bins where passengers can throw litter,” he said.
He said that any bus that will be spotted with passengers throwing litter through the window will be penalized.
