Chingola Council urges residents to verify documents before Land Purchase

By ALICE NACHILEMBE

Chingola Municipal Council has called on the members of the public to desist from buying land (plots) without documentation.

CMC Assistant Public Relations Manager said the Local Authority has noticed with concern, the number of suspecting developers who have purchased pieces of land from unscrupulous individuals without authentic documents.

Ms Mulenga said the Council is therefore urging residents seeking to buy land from other persons besides the Local Authority to ensure that they verify legal documents such as Offer Letters and receipts with the Council.

She said residents are also urged to present the purported documents before purchase of land for Council to verify the right ownership.

“Members of the public are also notified that Council will not be held liable for any transactions made without following the correct procedure,” she said.
