Chingola Municipal Council has approved a budget K141.5 million for 2022 civic year.

The proposed revenue for 2022 is more than the approved budget for 2021 by K56.6 million representing 67 percent increments.

And Finance Evaluation and Commercial Undertaking Committee Chairperson Hamalila Himanansa said the increment revenue will come from the up scaled Constitution Development Fund (CDF) as well as the approval of the 2017 main evaluation roll on mining by the rating tribunal.

Mr Himanansa said K51.1 million source of the revenue will come from owner’s rates and K51.4 million from Constituency Development Fund.

Other income will be K15.1 million, from National support K13.5 million and from fees and charges K10.1million.

He said the K141.5 million does not include possible improvement in the condition of service for employees, the omission is as a result of not been included in the 2022 budget guidelines.

Mr Himanansa said 62 per cent of the locally generated revenue will be channeled towards service delivery.

He said the 72 per cent will be for administration and emoluments.

Mr Himanansa said his committee has lined up programs and activities specifically aimed at addressing some of the community priorities as highlighted in the strategic plan.
