Chingola Constituency awards 54 cooperatives and clubs with CDF grants

Chingola Constituency Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga has officially handed over cheques to cooperatives and clubs that applied for Constituency Development Funds (CDF) grants.

The constituency has over 200 applicants and of which 54 cooperatives and clubs received their grants in the first phase.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held at the council chamber yesterday, Mr Chipoka said the grants are just one of the fulfillments of the promises made by the UPND before forming government.

Mr Chipoka said that government empowerment programs are meant to improve the livelihood of the Zambian people.

He has assured the people in his constituency that this was the first phase of the CDF as more clubs and cooperatives will be awarded with grants.

The Member of Parliament who is also Minister of Commerce and Trade has appealed to applicants that have not received in the first phase to exercise patience as government will not leave anyone behind.

And Chingola District Commissioner Raphael Chimupi has called on the beneficiaries to put the money to good use in order to supplement government’s efforts of alleviating poverty amongst the Zambian people.

And speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Emmanuel Silwiza thanked the area member of Parliament and the UPND government for the fulfillment of its promises to empower the Zambian people.

He has expressed gratitude further assuring that the money will be put to good use.
