Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo is upset that bus drivers are parking their buses along Independence Avenue and Mukushi Road between Total Fuel station and Chimutunga Park.
The Mayor has condemned move saying it is congesting the highway.
Mr Tembo feels cheated that council had met the demands of the same bus drivers who besieged Chingola Municipal Council (CMC) to open up an inter-city station in town.
“Total fuel station is not a bus station and we will not allow lawlessness among drivers. Erring drivers will be cautioned against parking their buses along the road.’
‘When opening the route we agreed that the drivers can station one bus at Total fuel station and another Don Bosco to deter pirates and not to load from the two locations,” he said.
The Mayor said those who do not follow the caution would be arrested and prosecuted according to the Law.
Mr Tembo called on the public to stop getting onto the pirating taxies and buses as a means to self-preservation.
He said getting on public service transport assures one of safety even in the event that one leaves language behind.
Recently Chingola Council officially opened the inter-mining town bus station in the central business district (CBD) resulting from calls by the members of the public living in the east of the town for easy access to the station.
