Chingola: Avic goes on recess

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Avic Construction is going on recess, leaving Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo elated with work done so far.

Mr Tembo said the progress on the road construction works has been left at 80% (eighty per cent).

He said Chingola has seen most of the roads completed to bituminous standard.

“The pace at which the three contractors had moved from last year can be seen as most of the roads are done to bituminous standard. China Geo and Sino Hydro had completed their works and Avic with larger portion had done 75% (seventy-five percent) of the works,” he said.

The Mayor said Avic has remained with two bridges but promised that the bridge at Nsumi would be completed before they leave as it is almost done.

Avic is going on recess and would be back on site in March 2019 to finish up the remaining works on Kubundi road, Chandwe Musonda Road in Chiwepala and Cemetery Road.

Mr Tembo urged residents to guard against vandalizing of the road signs and the street lights which are beautifying the district.
