Chinese politics admirable-Zambian youths

Copperbelt PF Youth Chairperson Don Mungulube says Chinese politics are impressive as citizens take more time focusing on economic development.

Speaking in an interview with The Independent Observer from China, Mr Mungulube said China’s political landscape is amazing with proper co-existence among political players.

He said China has nine political parties but all of them operate without jeopardising the country’s economic agenda.

Mr Mungulube who is a team leader for the delegation of 32 Zambian youths, said the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the founding and ruling political party of the People’s Republic of China.

He said the Communist Party which is the sole governing party within mainland China, has permitted eight other, subordinated parties to co-exist with those parties making up the United Front.

“The eight are the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, China Democratic League, China National Democratic Construction Association, China Association for Promoting Democracy, Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, China Zhi Gong Dang, Jiu San Society and Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.

“If we can co-exist like this in Zambia and focus on more economic development, our country can quickly develop,” he said.

He appealed to Zambia’s opposition political parties not to continuously oppose government on anything, even on matters that may help to grow the economy.

Mr Mungulube said the opposition political parties in China have a positive duty to offer advice to the government and hold advisory positions in the critical sector of government institutions.

“It’s now than never to take a leaf from China’s political landscape and its culture towards respecting leadership which is elected by the people. With the current stable bilateral relationship of Zambia and China it signals stability in the leadership of President Edgar Lungu,” he said.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) was founded by Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao in Shanghai in 1921, as a study society and an informal network.

The 32 Zambian youths are attending a Seminar in Beijing in China on Integrated Rural and Urban Development and Poverty Reduction for Zambia.

The program runs up to October 4, 2019 and during the official opening the 32 youths from Zambia will also visit other Provinces of China.
