A Chingola resident John Kane has petitioned District Commissioner Mary Chibesa to facilitate the deportation of Bin Giang 32, who was behind unlawful drilling and possession of guns without licence.
The Chingola Magistrate slapped him with a paltry K10, 000 fine for being possession of firearm without licence while the charge of unlawful drilling was squashed off.
Mr Kane has managed to secure 35 signatures from residents of influence in Chingola among them Bishops, Chief Executive Officers and senior resident.
And he has presented the letter to the DC with attachments of people offering him solidarity.
He wrote to the DC and copied the two Members of Parliament to look into the matter saying the Chinese should be deported not fined.
Mr Kane said in as much as the Chinese are doing a great Job but there is also need for Zambians to secure their country.
He said fining the Chinese may introduce the gun culture which is bad for the nation.
“At least the fine should have been much more than that or better still deport the man back to his country. In China a similar offence would carry minimum of seven years and depending on the circumstances the offender can be sentenced to death,” he said.
Mr Kane’s father was deported from Philippine for slapping a Filipino and he was only given 24 hours in which to leave their country.
