Chilundika wins Nchanga Constituency seat

UPND’s Nchanga constituency parliamentary candidate Derricky Chilundika has scoped the Nchanga parliamentary seat.

Mr Chilundika was duly declared Member Parliament by returning officer Kelvin Banda at 23:35 hours.

Mr Chilundika polled 17, 293 beating closest contend PF’s Rosemary Chipoya who polled 15,690 votes.

while NDC’s Arthur Teleshi polled 223 votes, Samson Phiri of the DP polled 226 and Mwila Mwanga polled 785 votes.

A total of 495 ballot papers were rejected as invalid.

Nchanga constituency registered 34,712 votes in the parliamentary race.

Nchanga constituency returning officer Kelvin Banda also announced that PF’s Presidential candidate Edgar Lungu polled 14,764 and UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema polled 19,045 votes
545 ballot papers were declared rejected as invalid and that a total 34,810 were cast in the Presidential vote in the constituency.

UPND’s Johnson Kang’ombe was also declared new Chingola mayor.
