Chilundika donates Covid-19 equipment to marketeers

By JOHN SAKALA
Chingola based politician Derricky Chilundika has donated hand washing basins to marketeers at Buyantanshi market in Nchanga North to help fight coronavirus.

The basins which have water taps were given out randomly to the marketeers to help curb the pandemic which has humbled the world.

Speaking after receiving the basin at her stand Juliet Chabu thanked Mr Chilundika for the gesture to the marketeers.

Ms Chabu said the hand washing basins equipped with a water taps have become very unaffordable for marketeers to acquire.

“And having leaders like Mr Chilundika who will come to our aid is very much appreciated. At the moment our businesses are going down due to low turnover of clients. As such we can’t manage to buy a basin,” she said.

Another recipient, Mcbirth Lombe said good leaders stand with their people in bad times and bail them out with basic needs which can affect the operation of their businesses.

Mr Lombe said hand washing basins have become a requirement for any business to operate.

But the sad part is that the suppliers have fixed an exploiting price which is unfoldable for ailing businesses.

And Mr Chilundika said he always wants to be close to the people in times of joy and hurdles.
