Chililabombwe DC, Mayor battling for seniority

By Staff Writer
Chililabombwe has been hit by leadership battles as the District Commissioner Paul Mulenga and the Mayor Christabel Mulala continue to battle for seniority.

The battle between the two PF leaders is who is the boss of the district?

The drama now is that when the local national events organizing committee invites the District Commissioner, the Mayor shuns the event.

And when the Mayor is invited as guest of honour the District Commissioner snubs the event.

At one point a senior Government Officer was visiting Kasumbalesa and none of the duo cared to inquire from the colleague of the program especially where the Permanent Secretary would pay a courtesy call.

And when he did on the Mayor, she never bothered to inform the DC that the PS had come and they went to Kasumbalesa without the DC. Luckily he followed.

The Independent Observer understands that the two were Teachers by profession and it seems the DC was more senior than the Mayor.

This appear to be the mentality which is at play.

It will be vital for Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe to harmonize the duo for the betterment of the district.

The PS should also clarify as to who is senior between the duo and tell them that their past profession is not applicable in terms of seniority with the current positions.
