Chililabombwe Council vaccinates over 40 dogs on Rabies day

Chililabombwe Municipal Council has registered 43 dogs during World Rabies Day Commemoration.

Public Relations Officer Annedy Kangwa said during the event community members were sensitized on the need to have their dogs vaccinated at Chililabombwe veterinary offices and registered under Council’s Public Health Department to avoid any rabies outbreak.

Ms Kangwa said the Local Authority has  urged members of the public to have their dogs registered  and vaccinated.

She said a dog Tag and certificate is issued as proof of registration.

CMC Public Health Officers  on September 28, 2022 commemorated the Word Rabies Day under the theme “One Health, Zero Deaths”

The event was held in Mine area and the Sensitization was centered on rabies control and dog registration.
