Chililabombwe Municipal Council (CMC) has a given three months ultimatum to land owners who have not developed their land or risk re-possession.
The Council has also warned the owners of the mushrooming gardens in the road reserves and undeveloped plots that they risk facing the wrath of the Grader.
CMC Assistant Public Relations Manager Chilufya Chungu said gardening in the road reserves compromises the beauty and security of the town.
Ms Chungu said gardening in road reserves is against the provisions of both the urban and regional planning Act of 2015.
She said the Council will not hesitate to remove such gardens and penalizing offenders.
Regarding undeveloped plots, Ms Chungu said affected plot owners will be given three months in which to start developing or risk losing the land.
Ms Chungu said that there is high demand for plots from members of the public, hence the move to repossess and offer to serious developers.
