Chililabombwe Council removes vendors

Chililabombwe Municipal Council has started removing vendors trading along the International Road in Kasumbalesa.

Director Public Health Gift Sakanyi said the Local Authority wants traders to trade in a conducive environment away from dangers of any out breaks and accidents.

Mr Sakanyi said trading along the roads has no sanity in it especially when issues of sanitation arises.

He said the market has adequate spaces where they can trade that is why they are been moved.

Mr Sakanyi said the move is to bring sanity to the area.

“The council has also began opening up the clogged drainage prior to the Salongo (Cleaning Day) to be conducted tomorrow, “he said.

The Deputy Mayor Gift Vinkumbo said that the move has nothing to do with taking them away but want them to trade in a good environment.

Mr Vinkumbo has made an appeal to vendors to work with the local authority in maintain order and sanity in the district.
