Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole will be sacrificed by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season as part of the club’s plans to reshuffle the squad following a horrible domestic campaign.
For all the expectations that greeted Kambole’s arrival two years ago from ZESCO United he has not given Chiefs anything to warranty that he be retained beyond this term.
His numbers are awful – no goal in 22 appearances this season after scoring just once in 17 games last term is bad for any player who is used in the forward lines.
Information reaching this website says not only will Kambole be shown the door due to his disappointing return the club also wants to free up foreign space for next season.
The decision on Kambole has already reached as far back as earlier on in the season but since the club could not make any signings due to the transfer ban it was hoped that he would provide improved displays which come with goals.
Instead, the 27-year-old has been all effort and no returns in terms of the numbers that matter the most for an attacking player.
One goal in 39 games cannot be justified.
Though Chiefs have now reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, Kambole has not scored in all of the nine games that he has played.
So far, Chiefs have already signed Ruzaigh Gamildien and Kgaogelo Sekgota from Swallows as attacking options for the new season and still want to bring in both a foreign defender and another striker.
