Nchanga Member of Parliament Chali Chilombo today presented Christmas gifts to Christmas babies at Nchanga North General Hospital.
And Mr Chilombo also took time to present Christmas cakes to all wards at the health facility.
The Nchanga Lawmaker gave gifts to three Christmas babies where there was a set of twins.
He said time of Christmas is time to share and he chose to share with the newly born kids.
And during his visitation to the wards where he he presented cakes for the patients, Mr Chilombo said time of Christmas is time of reunion.
He said the cakes were meant to remind the patients that despite being away from their families, there were other members of the community that care about their welfare.
The MP who wished all the patients a quick recovery promised management at the hospital that Nchanga North General Hospital will be his baby and he will only speak through deeds.
And Nchanga North General Hospital Medical Superintendent Samuel Phiri said during the year 2018, the health institution had recorded clinical progressive.
Dr Phiri said there was reduction of mothers dying soon after delivering and reduction of deaths children between one day and 29 days.
he other clinic progression was reduction of deaths of the first 48 hours upon admission.
He said despite operating below staff establishment, the staff dedication to work was amazing.
And in a vote of thanks Ward 6 Sister-In-Charge Christine Shanduka thanked the MP for taking time to visit the health facility.
Ms Shanduka said it is encouraging for staff at the hospital to interact with their parliamentarian.
