Chabanyama Ward Gets Facelift with New Development Projects

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chabanyama Ward Councillor Moses Lungu says the community has embarked on a number of long-awaited development projects, including the construction of concrete drainages along Moba and Muchinga roads.

Mr Lungu says the project’s timely completion is important, as it will prevent waterlogging and potential submersion of houses during the rainy season.

He emphasised that proper drainage systems are essential in preventing water-borne diseases.
He has urged the contractor to expedite the construction process, ensuring the community receives the benefits of the project.

The community has also been encouraged to support and safeguard the project, by making sure sure that litter is not thrown in the drainages.

“This development is part of a series of promises fulfilled by the government, including the purchase of an ambulance for Chawama Clinic,” he said.

Other notable initiatives in the ward include sports activities for girls and boys, loan and grant applications to support local development projects, and a major water project using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to bring running water to Chabanyama Ward.

Chabanyama Clinic will receive a dedicated power line, ensuring 24 hours electricity during load shedding periods, thanks to the efforts of Chingola member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga.
“These developments demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Chabanyama Ward residents.

“As the community looks forward to these projects’ completion, their appreciation for the authorities’ efforts is tangible,” he said.
