CCC rebuked for allowing Chipata Mayor to construct a wall fence on road reserve

By Onishias Maamba
Chipata Central Constituency CDF Chairperson Attan Mwamba has rebuked Chipata City Council (CCC) for allowing Chipata Mayor to construct a wall on a road reserve at his moth extension residence.

In a walking-in interview at Feel Free news, Mr Mwamba has expressed displeasure that the mayor who is supposed to lead by example in upholding the law could be the one in the forefront to set a bad precedence.

Mr Mwamba wondered why technocrats at the Council could not advise the mayor, but folded their arms and allowed an illegality to continue.

He noted that it will be difficult for the council to promote orderliness in Chipata if they are failing to apply the law on the Mayor, further noting that Mr Mwale is not adding value to the council.

Mr Mwamba who is also former PF regional chairperson has called on the Local authority to move in at once and erase the wall.

He has warned that if nothing happens, he will write to the Ministry of Lands to revoke the license of land agents from the council.

Further, Mr Mwamba has called on all well-meaning PF supports in Chipata to condemn the illegality being perpetuated by the Mayor.
